Why Us

What working with us is actually like, and who it suits.

More than a policy — stewards of your legacy.

Choosing who to trust with your family’s protection is a meaningful decision, especially when your life includes more than a balance sheet. At Outrider Planning, we’ve built our practice on principles that reflect the people we serve — honest, hardworking families and individuals who deserve more than one-size-fits-all advice.

The difference

What actually sets this apart

Stewardship

Your wealth reflects your hard work, your values, and your hopes for the people who come after you. We treat it with the care we'd give our own — planning for today while protecting your legacy for generations to come.

Most plans stop at the end of the client's own lifetime.

Service

We're here to serve, not to sell. Every relationship begins with understanding, and every recommendation — protecting your income, insuring the ranch or the business, planning retirement income — is rooted in what's best for you.

Sales targets decide more recommendations than anyone admits.

Integrity and transparency

You'll know how we're paid before you decide, every recommendation comes in writing with the reasoning shown, and we'll say plainly when the right answer is to keep what you have. No hidden agendas. No cookie-cutter solutions.

Compensation is rarely explained without being asked.

Communication

Great planning starts with great communication. We keep you informed, involved, and educated every step of the way — an annual review or a big life decision — so you always feel in control of the path forward.

An annual statement in the mail is often the whole conversation.

How we help

Advice that starts with understanding you

Clarity first

Before recommending anything, we map what you're protecting, what you already own, and what you're actually working toward.

Straight answers

Independent of any one carrier, and clear about how we're paid before you decide anything.

A real partnership

You get a named professional who knows your situation, not a rotating queue and a case number.

Education, always

You should understand every recommendation well enough to explain it to someone else.

Straight answers

Are you a financial advisor?

We are an independent, licensed insurance professional — not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. We do not manage investments or give securities advice. Our work is protection and retirement income: making sure your family, your income, and your legacy are covered, using insurance and annuity solutions matched to your situation.

How are you compensated?

By the insurance companies whose products you choose to put in place. There is no fee for meeting with us and no charge for a review. We explain how we are paid before you decide anything, and we will say plainly when the right answer is to keep what you already have.

Is there a minimum to work with you?

No. We work with individuals and families in a wide range of situations. The first conversation will make it clear whether we are the right fit for each other.

What happens in the first meeting?

We listen. You will leave with a clear sense of what working together would look like and no obligation to continue.
